Fendt 1040-1052 Vario Gen4

Introduced in 2015, the 1000 Vario series was updated in autumn 2025 to the Gen4 generation. Earlier updates to the range had been minor apart from the FendtONE user interface introduced for 2021, and no major changes were made this time either. The MAN low-speed engines had received modifications to the pistons, crankshaft, and injectors so that the power and torque curves were broader than before. Improved fuel efficiency was also promised. In the most powerful model, the 1052 Vario, maximum output with boost now reached 550 hp. A new feature introduced for the more powerful models was the Fendt Adaptive Power function, which allows the operator to select the engine control maps of the smaller models when full power is not required for lighter work.

As in the 800 series, a highly configurable work light package was added to the options list, with its 120,500-lumen rating likely being the brightest yet seen on a tractor. Minor changes were made to the cab and interior. The drivetrain remained the VarioDrive TA400, which enabled variable distribution of drive between the front and rear axles depending on conditions. A top speed of 60 km/h was achieved at 1,450 rpm. Transmission oil changes were required every 4,000 hours and hydraulic oil every 2,000 hours. Hydraulic output, with two pumps, was 430 l/min.
